Sunday

This has been a very nice weekend. My dad was here. He brought a load of meat to Rescue Rita and my other friend Paula. They each bought half a steer. He was very nice to deliver it for them. Then he left from my house and went to his high school reunion. I think he had a good day. My DH and his mother and The Littles took off for the day to a local park with a pond and I was looking forward to a quiet day to myself, THEN Rescue Rita called and said Apples are falling off the tree and we need to go pick if we can. So off we went. We picked 5 boxes of apples, one for a neighbor that LOVES these apples and some for me and my friend Anita. After we were done picking apples - which by the way are the biggest I have ever seen in my life! Mr. Eytzen said the biggest he has ever measured was 13 inches around. They are Giant Buckleys and Giants they are! Oh back to the story, we went out to Birch Bay and roasted hot dogs and had a lovely dinner on the bay.

My dad as he was getting ready to leave this morning.

Crescent Bar

Anita and I had plans earlier this summer to go away for the weekend but we had to change the date and this was the weekend! Oh it was so much fun. We left Wed. after I got off of work. We got there about midnight. We have swam and soaked up the sun. It was beautiful. We took daily rides in the golf cart, which The Littles LOVED. I had our Littles and Anita had only her bottom 3. Her oldest had football everyday so he stayed home with his dad. I'm sure we were such a sight with the 2 of us ladies and 5 kids all on the golf cart. 2 big deals that happened were a mama deer and a spotted fawn walked right up to the boys in the yard. Everyone froze, I think even the deer were in shock. Then they bounded off through the golf course. Then on Sat. night it was Karaoke night. IN OUR FRONT YARD! I guess they do this every year this weekend. OMW I cannot remember when I have laughed sooooooo hard. Anita and I sat on our deck and had front row seats and it lasted almost 3 hours. It was a very large group and most of them had been drinking. We just sat on our deck and watched and had a wonderful show. The other big thing we did was make homemade ice cream. Everyone LOVED it. Bugs was very worried about what we were going to do with the ice cream we hadn't eaten and I said I would throw it out when we packed up to go. He about had a panic attack. He got the last bites and it wasn't thrown out. WHEW!

This is how we spent most of the last 4 days.

Just look at his face

This long waited for child just cracks me up! Out of no where he puts on one of my headbands and then he stuck the feather in it and declared himself an Indian. The whitest white kid around! I often wonder if he would be so funny if his name wasn't Isaac. I think he just has to live up to his name.
He thought the feather looked better in the back so he moved it. Then he collapsed into a heap of giggles. I have no clue what cracked him up.

Sunday

Today was a lazy kind of Sunday. Bugs went to his buddy's that moved up to Lake Steven's and they miss each other terribly. Skater dude and T2 both went to the river with friends. So as our house was heating up we decided to take hot dogs and go roast them on the beach at Kayak Point. Monkey had so much fun. He is fearless in the water. So we tied his float with 50' of rope and he just floats and plays. Rescue Rita had called and asked what we were up to and when I told her she made the "oh I want to go too noise" so I called her when we were headed out and said we are having dogs and chips, if you want something else bring it. She brought some salad's and beans to share and we had a lovely dinner! T2 and a friend came by for a hot dog on their way back into town.
Bolt tried to drink the water and then he was trying to spit it back out just as fast. It was funny but you would have had to have been there. He wasn't fond of the salt water.

Monkey just walked straight into the water. He is fearless in the water this year.

Family

My mom, her Uncle George and Cousin Eloise.
We had a family gathering today in Puyallup. I knew almost no one so I didn't take pictures but I knew my auntie would want this one and it's the only one I took. I know my mom has more. It was a good time. Everyone brought food to share and we sat in the front yard of my great Uncle's house under his HUGE walnut tree. There was several dogs - Bolt and Scout included and there was not one cross word among them. I should have taken pictures of the dogs they were cute. I just didn't know who was who and it didn't come to mind until mom and Eloise were standing for their picture. Hopefully mom will get what she wants of them. My great Uncle is 93 and the last of his generation. He is still active and does what he wants. He goes up to his lake cabin at least once a week to cut wood for the winter. I guess they caught him on the roof not long ago fixing something. He almost gave everyone a stroke! Uncle George seemed pleased to see everyone. I'm glad we went. Probably should have taken pictures but I still wouldn't know who was who and I have boxes of pictures that I have those issues with. lol I hope you had a wonderful day.
