Stephen King

Today I went to my Wed. house. It was totally decorated for Halloween. I just hate Halloween.
See this spider? When you make a loud sudden noise it goes down on it's "web" and chatters then slowly backs back up the string. I set it off 3 times! It scared me each and every time! I KNEW it was there! I'm such a dork.

THEN I am cleaning a small bathroom - sink and throne - I'm washing the sink and I happen to glance up in the mirror I see a clown and don't think anything of it, then I think that wasn't there before and then I look up again and K (guy) is standing behind me in an UGLY clown mask! I gasped and then said SHIT! Scared the daylights out of me. He was laughing so hard he almost tripped backwards over a toy. I called him an ass! Probably not the nicest/best way to handle it but he scared me! I told him every hair on my head was standing straight up! My fingertips were tingling! He was laughing SO HARD. He said Are you afraid of clowns? I said WHO ISN'T? ??? I said that was my Stephen King moment come to life. He thought he was hilarious. He said he got the ugly mask to scare his sister who is scared of clowns. I said K that isn't a nice clown mask! I'm not scared of clowns at the circus or anything but that was a scary mask and meant to scare people. I don't DO scary. Dh called me to ask me something and I told him I just called my boss an ass. I told him the story and he was LAUGHING too! What a bunch of creepy guys.
I hope you have a scare free day!

Things that make you go hmmmmmmm......

  • Is it possible to have writer's block if you're not a writer?
  • My friend had one of her lumps removed and is staying very positive and now we just wait.
  • I took the curtains down today to wash the cat snot/boogers and a garden's worth of dust off them. When they were dry I went to hang them and they were so wrinkled I had to actually take out my ironing board and iron and iron them! RUDE
  • Walker is feeling so much better. He still shakes his head but not as much.
  • Dh got The Littles costume's tonight. They are so excited. We didn't DO Halloween with the big boys, they feel slighted. :) We just tell them they were the experiment.
  • I'm going to have a houseful this weekend. We are having a celebration for Dh's birthday. I'm so excited and nervous. I'm never sure people will show up and then on the other hand I worry I won't have enough food. I think I just like to worry.
  • I am SICK TO DEATH of political commercials.
  • What I am sick to death of even more? Is having a discussion with little guys about the stupid commercials. I almost would rather vote for the person who stands on their own merits and doesn't sling mud! RIDICULOUS!
  • And on that same note, if you don't vote, don't fuss!
  • A friend of ours had a new grand baby today. Not the best situation but a baby is here non the less. It was a 7lb. 8 oz girl. With a HEAD of hair! Amazing. None of mine had hair like that.
  • Marble tile is a bugger on your hips and knees!
  • I think that's the sum of my thoughts tonight.

Happy Birthday Hubby!

It's his birthday! We didn't do much today, we are having a big shindig on Saturday. He's OK with it, but the closer it gets the more squeamish he is. I'm loving it. I want him to know how many people love him and I want him to have a good day. HE So does not like being the center of attention. His mom is coming with his sister and brother in law. I think it will be nice for her to be with him on his birthday again. She will be 94 in December.
Happy Birthday Darling! I love you.

Bad News

I HATE CANCER!
Yes I know I was yelling. I am so frustrated and so sad/scared/angry/*insertwhateverwordyoulike*! I have a friend who has been given a general diagnosis of cancer - lymphoma. Since that diagnosis she has found 2 more swollen lymph nodes. She has some good news with that though, her white count is normal, they have looked at all her organs and they all look just fine. She has surgery on Monday to take out one node to get a concrete diagnosis and a treatment plan. I HATE what it has done to her. She is scared and so sad. She is normally cheery and upbeat. I understand the steps, but my friend is forever changed. I think you loose an innocence that you can't get back. Like being touched by death, you don't ever go back to not knowing what that feels like. I hope that makes sense. I'm just sad her family is going to have to go down this road. Pray for her if you will. Please.
THEN another friend whose husband had Multiplemyloma 6 years ago just got back a routing follow up check with a high protein reading that they follow. He has to go have more blood work. We are all trying not to panic. Please pray for him also and his family. I'm scared.
On a good note, My sweet Charlotte is doing great! Her hair is growing and it's CURLY! It wasn't before chemo. I think she's almost ready for a haircut. She is feeling so much better. The one thing that is lingering that is really bugging her are her finger's and toes are numb. They aren't surprised by that but frustrated. She has started watching her grand kids again and is feeling really good. She is at her first follow up appointments. Her daughter and 2 friends just did the 3 Day Cancer walk here and finished strong! I'm so proud of the 3 of them. 60 miles in 3 days is HUGE!
One of the ladies in our Birthday Dinner group husband is fighting terminal cancer. They have an 18 year old son. He's fighting against horrible odds. I admire his strength so much. They know the outcome and he's still fighting. Fighting for his life, to see his son, to spend every day with his wife. But the terminal part is still the same.
Sorry this is depressing but it is what it is. I just need to put it down.

Big fat "F"

That is what I would be deserving if I was being graded on this blog. "F" This past week was intense! Bugs and Monkey and I had a rough week. By the time the end of the week rolled around we were going to have a "come to Jesus" meeting! I hope with some sleep and snuggles this weekend that this next will look better. At one point my mom called and Monkey was sobbing behind me so she tried to talk to him on the phone. He told her we were treating him like an IDIOT! Uhhhhhh no, I wouldn't fix him something different for dinner then what I had already fixed for the rest of the family. That kid is totally addicted to toaster waffles! He's something!
Walker went back to the vet for his follow up. They took out some of his staples but not the ones on his leg. His ears look good. They want to take the stitches out of his ear next Friday. They tried to charge me for cleaning his ears. I just stared at the women. She said Oh, that's not right. I KNOW! He had surgery on his ears and they deep cleaned them a week ago, NOT PAYING AGAIN!
I'm doing a photo challenge for October. I set it up and picked the words. I have stumped myself TWICE. Genius aren't I!
A few weeks ago I got new goblets from Joy's yard sale. Yesterday I cleaned out my hutch to make room. I am totally disgusted at the amount of dust in something that is almost never opened! While I was doing it I got my grandmother's teacup shelf back out and up on the wall so my teacups could go back on it and out of my hutch, thus making room for the goblets. :) See .... method to my madness. So I had move my hutch down the wall to put the shelf up. I don't know if my grandpa made this shelf or not but it is well made. It has 3 holes in each side to hang it by. Luck would have it that Dh found studs for both sides! YEAH. That does not happen often! It looks a bit odd with the hutch off center but I'd rather have that and the shelf up then no shelf.
I hope you have a blessed week.

Weekend Away

I tried forever yesterday to get this to load. Grrrrrrr Blogger!
This past weekend my friend Rita and I went on a little get away. She grew up Mennonite and every year all over the country they have what is called MCC sales. It's quilt and other donated things for the yearly fund raiser for missions. They do such good things in this country and others.

Rita in downtown Ritzville

Rita and I. I had hung the camera in a tree and set the timer and RAN. It was HILARIOUS. I'm pretty sure I inhaled a bug!

Thirsty Rita

She isn't trying to look angelic she was throwing water into the air, see the drops?

Ritzville has about 30 people in it. That's a lot of churches! We were at the Menno Mennonite - 20 miles West one.

This reminds me of the scene If you build it they will come. This church is in the middle of BFE and people come from MILES around. It's just wonderful.

This was one of my fave's. I think it went for $3500.o0. It is hand quilted and pieced. AND King size. Just beautiful. No it's probably not worth $3500 but it is a fund raiser so people come expecting to pay.

This was my second fave. It went for $3300. I REALLY need to go back to Tn. to the quilt shop I love there with money in hand!

This one went for $2000 something....

Rita again. We were headed to the baked goods booth. Neither of us bought anything. Not because it all didn't look good! We just decided to not.

The set up for the auction of the quilts. They are experts at this.

This guy is HILARIOUS! At one point he took the quilt from the bed and ran into the people so they could feel it and see it up close so he could make them up their bids - THEY DID!

Isn't this just beautiful!

The Mennonite cemetery. They have done some work on it but it still needs some love and attention.

Mt. Rainer from Ryegrass with a halo.

Our favorite fruit stand outside of Leavenworth.

Rita and some random dude and his newfy!

I just thought this was a cool picture.

We took this ride last year. It's way cool!

I just love Leavenworth.
It was very nice to get away and relax with my friend. If at all possible I will go again next year.
Have a blessed week.
Peace

Walker part 2

I'm headed out the door but I just did Walker's morning routine and thought I would share the grossness with you. You've been warned. :)

But first.... Bugs is the kindest funniest kid EVER! Yesterday he had let Walker out to do his "thang" and then let him back in and Scout ( who ALWAYS barks at him) barked at Walker. Bugs was so offended for Walker. He picked her up and explained to her that Walker was not feeling good and had surgery and how would she like it if she didn't feel good and Walker was barking and nipping at her. It was so sweet! He said Mom I don't know if she REALLY gets it but she hasn't barked at him again. He cracks me up! Who besides Bugs would explain it to a dog and expect that they get it? Isn't he precious.

Have a wonderful weekend. I'm off to a Mennonite Quilt Auction. This is the weekend I wish I was RICH!
Peace
