Skater LOVED his middle two fingers. I looked for a pictures of him sucking them but I can't find the one I'm looking for and don't have a scanner so it wouldn't matter anyway. Sigh. He sucked his middle 2 fingers and played with his ear. It used to make me gag to see his dirty hands EXCEPT for his 2 fingers. NASTY. We started telling him when he was 3 that when he was 5 he couldn't suck his fingers anymore. Just gentle reminders. That's what the dentist said to do. And you know for the most part when he was 5 he really did let it go. The damage was already done. He has some GNARLY teeth. The dentist kept wanting us to go to the ortho when he was young, we just couldn't do it. In Skater's Sophomore year we made it happen! He did have 4 teeth pulled and a expander. It's been an almost 4 year process.

After..... He really is happy.

I think he looks beautiful! He loves his teeth. He keeps rubbing his tongue over them and says his lips feel funny.

We meet Santa in Walmart

This is an old story but I want to get it down so it's not lost.
Bugs has been able to talk in complete sentences and everything since he was 18 months old. He was a little freak of nature. He never talked baby talk, he just started talking. I used to have to remind people, I know he talks really well but you do know he's only 2 right? OK, that's the back story...
We were shopping at Walmart when he was 2 for whatever we were shopping for. A very large man with snow white hair and long beard came by. Bugs has HUGE brown eyes and he looked at him and squinted and said in a quiet clear voice "Are you Santa Claus?" The man looked at him and smiled and got very serious and said "Do you think I'm Santa Clause?" Bugs looked at him with eyes as big as saucers and as dark as marbles and silently nodded yes. The man reached into his pocket and pulled out a candy cane and handed it to Bugs and said " You just never know".
We all looked at each other and we KNEW we had just meet Santa Claus!

Still Here

I figured I had better make a public post to let you know we are all still alive.
It has been a very quiet back to school/schedule kind of week. Yesterday I went North with Rescue Rita to see her mom. We took a round about way and on the way we saw Snow Geese. I did NOT have my camera. WTH! I'm almost never without my camera! They were beautiful. On the way home the snow started. We don't really have any here but it's supposedly coming. I would like a big beautiful snow storm please.

A bird from this week. She had been staring at me in the window but shifted around.

The other day I came home and this is what I found. T2 sleeping with his gun. By the number of Nerf darts all around I'm guessing it had been some war!

Today was our normal family dinner day. There was no football (Go Hawks!) since they played yesterday. Mindy came with Heir and Roommate. She LOVES my fried chicken and missed it the last time we had it. So when they came in the house they said they could smell it outside and they said it smelled WONDERFUL! I love cooking for those kids! We had fried chicken, coleslaw, mashed potatoes and gravy and a big salad and rolls. It all turned out so good. I will cook for Roommate any day of the week. I do not know where that boy puts it. I love them all so much and can't wait for Drummer and his family to join us. I love that even if we don't/can't touch base during the week we come together on Sunday and talk and laugh and re-connect with each other and hear about every one's week. LOVE IT! The only thing better would be my parents being here too but I know they would be a bit over whelmed at how loud it gets. :) Today after dinner the kids were all here for several hours just talking and we were laughing and I got the giggles so hard I was crying. My stomach hurts from trying to stop laughing.
