Haircut Tuesday

Today I went to work and then The Littles and Skater dude had dentist appointments. Monkey finally let them do x-rays. He just could not do it last time. He looks good. He already has his 6 year molars. Bugs looks good too. BUT they each have one little tiny cavity. They have no school tomorrow so Rescue Rita is taking them in for me so I don't have to miss work. Skater had no cavities which is great since he has braces. They want him to floss more. HA. Good luck with that. They all brush well, flossing, not so much.
After the dentist Skater dude wanted to come home and since I was already out and Bugs is having his picture made on Thursday we went to get The Littles haircuts. They were shaggy boys. This is Monkey before.

Bugs during......

Monkey during...

And after. Handsome guys.

Monkey was trying his serious/tough face.
I then made dinner and then watched Biggest Looser. I cannot believe Shay lost 17 pounds and STILL fell before the yellow line. Maddening. I wanted Abby to win but she already went home. No one listens to me. :) Have a great day.
Peace

Monday Monday

I did not want to get up today. I did though. :D
I have 2 precious ladies that I call the Hens. They are very good friends and they look out for each other. They are both in their 80's. I was at M's today. When I get there I normally just knock and go in and holler HELLO. Today the house was dark and the door was locked. Totally not the normal. M uses oxygen and had been in the hospital last month. My heart dropped to my feet! I was so scared something had happened. I went to my van and dug out her number and dialed - praying please answer please God let her answer. She did! I almost sobbed when she said hello. I said M! I'm at the front door. She said Oh I took a shower and thought I had left it unlocked. I said don't rush (one time the other Hen came to the door in a towel) . She came (fully dressed) and it was all I could do to not hug/squeeze her. She would have been totally clueless as to why. I just love these 2 precious ladies.
Ashley and Caleb came down for a time this afternoon. The Littles act like they have a new toy or puppy every time he comes. All 3 of them wrestle and are crazy with each other. They really love to play though. It was just to ugly to go outside. Then they went home and Dh was here and I went to Curves. They (the Curves Smart computer) keeps upping my goal. It's kicking my butt!
Tame' and I went walking last night(she is home from Arizona) and went tonight also. It was cold but not raining. Half way around our first lap the sky's opened up and it poured on us. The rain wasn't bad enough so it had to start really blowing too. By the time I got home and in the house I was soaked clear to my skin. What a lovely feeling. THEN as I was just going to get into a warm shower, T2 had gotten up to get ready for work and showered and used all the hot water! Life just isn't always kind. LOL Such is my Monday.

Sunday

This weekend was lazy. It was cold dark and rainy and I had no desire to be out in it at all. I ran to the bank Sat. morning with T2 and I'm pretty sure that's the only time I left the house. I got all the laundry done, beds stripped and remade. I also finished gutting Monkey's room. I had 3 piles, Goodwill, put up for grand kids and Anita's pile. I love it when things go out the door and nothing else comes in. I didn't get as much done as I would have liked but things checked off my list non the less.
I would like to cook ONE meal that isn't taco's or pizza that someone doesn't complain about. We used to think Heir apparent was picky, he has NOTHING on Bugs and Monkey. Skater has always just lived on air. We know this and have adjusted to him just not eating. I wonder how these family's of 12 - 18 kids do it. I am tired of the "I don't like that" every flipping night. My friend Anita is so good about trying new recipes, my family would have a stroke every night!
It is flannel sheet weather and I have them on my bed. I think Fall is here and it's not happy. Dh trimmed up our huge tree out front. It looks sort of naked and bone-ish but come Spring you will never know it's been cut on. One year my dad cut it way back and you would have never guessed it a year later.
It was a pretty boring quiet weekend.
I hope you have a blessed week.
Peace

This is it.

This is Thought Salad.
  • Heir apparent and T2 and I went to see Michael Jackson's This is it tonight. It was very good. Not what I thought it would be at all. I was worried it would be a glorified snuff film and it wasn't. No mention of his death at all. Just MJ dancing and singing and rehearsing. He seemed to be a perfectionist and knew what he wanted. He expressed it in a very kind and gentle way. He never wasted one movement. He really was poetry in motion. He seemed to be very kind to everyone. It was a good movie. I'm very sorry for his families loss.
  • I brought Dh home some popcorn and the rest of the M&M's. He was pleased.
  • The leaves are almost totally gone off of our tree. The neighbors will be totally thrilled when it's done. :) I wish they didn't stress over something that happens every year. Just seems such a waste of emotion and time to me.
  • I want to be Bette Midler when I grow up.
  • I realized there is no more babies for us so I really do need to go through all the baby clothes and maybe set a box for each boy aside and get rid of all of it. That seems very strange and not sure I can do it yet. But I do know it needs to be done. Soon.
  • I have a GINORMOUS cold sore (I know - pretty!) and I have no clue why. I haven't been sick. The only thing I can think of is that I have been taking lots of extra vitamins so I don't get sick and then make Charlotte sick. Then I missed 2 days. Who knows.
  • My own house REALLY needs some time and undivided attention from me.
  • The Littles both need a haircut.

I hope you have a good weekend.

Peace

The Full Monty

Here is the cast of characters for today.
Charlotte - Mrs. Client, friend, Cancer butt kicker.
Ken - Mr. Client.
Curtis - woosey big black lab/pit mix.
Nephew.

Charlotte came home today from her chemo about 2. I was about an hour from done. We talked for a few minutes and so I was a bit behind schedule at this point. MY FAULT. Fast forward to 3:30 is. Ken came in with the mail and news paper. He said what he does every time to me, "It sure smells good in here Nikki." I said Thank you. I was putting things away and starting the last load of laundry with the rags in it, just finishing up. He was cold and wet from working outside so he went to the shower to warm and clean up and get on clean clothes. I went into the family room to meet The Nephew and to tell Charlotte the plan for next week and good bye. As I walked down the hall Curtis came out of his hiding place that he runs to every time I start the vacuum. This great big dog who is suppose to be mean is afraid of the vacuum. HORRIBLY afraid. As Curtis came down the hall to me to ask to go outside I said " Hi baby!" Now as I am saying this Ken is opening the bedroom door. I see a naked shoulder and turn and continue outside with Curtis. Ken says SORRY and shuts the door. (He has assumed I have left, which I hadn't) I said No worries I saw nothing. I AM DYING INSIDE. I know he thinks I've just said HI BABY TO HIM! I walk BACK to the family room with what I know is a bright red face to Charlotte laughing and she asked did you get a tidy whitey show? I said NO I think it might have been the Full Monty, but I didn't see anything BUT as he was opening the door I said Hi Baby to CURTIS. I put my head down on the back of the couch ( I was kneeling behind it) Charlotte started laughing so hard I think she might have peed herself. I am pretty sure my face is still red. When I was leaving Ken said see you next week Nikki. I died a thousand deaths. LOL I am sure Charlotte got the "you should have warned me we weren't alone" talk after I left. Oh it was funny.
I hope something made you smile today.
Peace
PS - Ken was taking his dirty clothes to put them in the washer to wash with what I had just started.

Good news

Do you ever wonder why it's so hard for some people to put new toilet paper on the holder? I do. I think some people must find it terribly tricky.
Heir apparent starts his new job tomorrow. That's 3 out of 5. That's better. Now for Skater and Dh. People keep saying it's getting better, I would like to see it please. However it is good news and I will take it! We still are in our house and we aren't hungry so we have much more then some.
One of my friends is in Arizona. She drives down with her mom every year then gets to go back to help her drive home. She texted me today telling me it was beautiful and 80' . I called her a butthead. It is very cold and dark so early that Arizona sounds wonderful. But then so does Hawaii or Florida. Sigh... Here is where I'll be.
Please if it comes to mind pray for my dear Charlotte. Chemo is not fun and it's trying to kick her back. Thank you so much.
Peace
