Wine or Whine.......
We haven't had any of the snow that was predicted. I hope it stays that way. I have things blooming all over my yard. It sure was cold this morning though. I am not sorry we haven't had a snowy Winter and I would appreciate it if it didn't start now. BUT when Dh and I celebrated our 25Th anniversary with a small trip up the coast, when we came home the middle of April we had a terrible snow storm here when we were driving home. So it has happened. Nothing life altering no matter what.
I am so tired of cooking for picky people, short and tall! It is hard to cook for a large family when EVERY doggone day you have to think who doesn't like this, who doesn't like that. NUTS! SO I have decided I am only cooking for Dh. He LOVES my cooking. If someone doesn't like WHATEVER it is I'm cooking, they can eat something else from the menu of the night or go hungry. Take tonight for example. I made stroganoff with salad and french bread. Both Littles said No thanks to the meat, which I knew. Monkey had pasta (with catsup - GAG) and salad and bread and yogurt. Bugs pitched a hissy fit and was ugly but then sat at the table and ate about 3 noodles, a tablespoon of salad and bread and yogurt. T2 is sleeping and Skater boy will not eat nothing. Sigh. I'm just tired of it. I know it's because my kids have never truly gone hungry, which I am SO thankful for! SO THANKFUL. But I wish they understood how hard it is to make a good nutritious meal for more then one person. LOL I am not sure they would care at this point though. Maybe when they are grown up. I want to wear a sign that says I am not a short order cook.
OK enough of that rant. Just needed to vent it out. Sigh.

Oscar
For the last 2 Saturdays I have gone to the movies to see the Academy Nominees for the Best Picture. It was 10 movies this year and they showed 5 each day. I like most of the ones on the first Saturday and almost nothing of yesterdays movies. The first day was Avatar 3D, Up in the Air, Precious, The Blind Side, Inglourious Basterds. (not my spelling) It was so much fun. We were so tired but loved the way the theatre put it all together. Yesterday we saw Up, A Serious Man, The Hurt Locker, An Education, District 9. I thought the Hurt Locker was OK, but not FANTASTIC and liked nothing else. So not the best day but we had such a good time it was all good.
The first day. On our way to see Avatar in 3D. It was a good movie but I wasn't blown away like everyone else was. Just didn't have the WOW factor like it had been played up - to me. It was just a grown up Fern Gully. My opinion is worth what you pay for it. :)
As I watched the Academy Awards tonight it was nice to have an informed thought on who should win or shouldn't. I didn't agree with some of it but I don't get a vote. Ooooh well.
At the end of day 1. We were very tired.
The end of day 2. A tad earlier then the week before but we were still tired. It's a lot to sit through 5 movies. We had 20 minutes or so between each and a longer dinner break.
Tonight we had family dinner. All that was missing was Drummer boy and his family. So after dinner and it was kind of quiet we had a video call. Here is Drummer and Nathaniel. (I'll think of something for him) Princess had us laughing. We miss them so much. Dh is DYING to get his hands on that boy. We are going to see them soon.
Drummer and Daniel Aka Nathaniel. Princess can't quite get out the NATH..... so she calls him Daniel. It's SO cute!
Dh and I talking to Princess. Her Papa asked her to come swing so she was trying to crawl throught the computer. Papa is ugly to tease her. They WILL find a swing when we go.

Reptile Man
Tonight at The Littles school they had a guest called The Reptile Man. He has a zoo in a town close to us that has only slithery slimy creepy crawly things. We had Bug's birthday there a year ago and he was beyond THRILLED. So tonight they were so excited to get to see him again.

Fixed!
I picked up my computer today. I am reloading all my software. It's such a pain. It wasn't the motherboard or the hard drive, it seemed to be a software problem. I just want the thing to work and work right.
The sign at this farm said Buffalo. My dad says they are Yak's. I just think he had a very interesting face. This was on my our trip a week ago. We had so much fun. It's a good thing I don't have money or a farm. I would have had a lot of horses. There was about 10 that really stood out to me. Not that I have a good eye or anything but they had my attention.

I had to make jam today. I just made a double batch of mixed berry. I have more to do tomorrow. I thought I had more lids and I am out.
Has anyone ever had a kid that loved to hide and was so quiet at it that is scared the tar out of you? More then once? Monkey is so good at this game only we aren't playing! He has scared us several times. Bugger!
