Touring Siagon

Heir Apparent and Dacey had made all the plans for our trip.  We were going to have a few days in Saigon then we are going to Cambodia.  We walked as much as we could and took Grab taxi's when we needed to go further.  We went to one of the biggest markets I'd ever seen. Ben Thahn Market.  Similar to Pike's Place Market in Seattle but HUGE!  Way bigger.  You could find anything you'd like.  And things you hadn't thought of.  We went to a roof top bar while waiting for Dacey to get off work.  They were filming a movie there.  It was interesting to watch.  It was so pretty seeing the city from way up there.  We never ate at the same place twice.  We only ate at Heir's house twice.  LOL

I could add pages and pages of pictures.  I just want to keep it to normal amount.  LOL
Next is Cambodia!
Peace

In which I try again...

In an effort to remember...
In Sept. of 2015 we were celebrating Bug's birthday out at the sound.  Heir Apparent came and sat by me and wanted a private moment.  He told me that he needed to find out if what he had with his friend was something real or not.  She had asked him to come to Vietnam to live/work and to really get to know each other.  He said he was seriously considering it.  I about choked inside but knew he'd been close to home far longer then I'd thought he'd stay.  I began immediately saving money.  Where ever my kids go, I'm going to visit!
So the beginning of 2016 Heir moved to Saigon.  He loved it!  He worked at learning the language, the money, the customs, driving there (OMG!) He came home several times for different things.  We always talked about when I came to visit.  Dh made it very clear from the beginning that he would not be going.  Dacey and Heir came for Christmas.  We missed him but he really was home as often as he could.  When he was home for Christmas he asked his daddy "Are you sure you are ok with Mom coming to visit me without you?"  Dh said Yup, I'm good.  We continued with our conversation making him very aware I was going SOON with or without him.  About 2 weeks into January Dh came home and said I'm taking Tuesday off.  ODD I think..  Why?  I asked.  He replied I'm going to go get my passport.  HA!  He was coming with me.
Plans were made and tickets were purchased and we were off to Vietnam.
Dh of course found someone to talk to in Soul Korea.  Our flight was delayed so we arrived in the middle of the night in Siagon.  It was so good to see Heir!  I squeezed and squeezed him.  He filmed our arrival, it was so funny!  Because we got there in the middle of the night it looked so strange,  Hardly any traffic, all the building closed up.
When we got up later that morning Heir was so excited to show us around.  We started by walking up to the busier part of his area.  District 2.  We walked for blocks just looked and taking it all in.  It was so warm and beautiful.  We had coffee, tea for me in a open side walk coffee place.  Dh took his first selfie ever.  Later that afternoon we went into Siagon.  OH MY WORD!  There was sooo many people and so much traffic.  We were shocked!  Where had all these people come from??  We went to the big touristy post office to get postcards and get them in the mail.  It would be weeks before they arrived in the US.  Then we went and saw some of the area while waiting for Dacey to get off work.  Heir had informed us it was the dry season and we would not need jackets.  We were walking down the street and a HUGE black cloud came and hovered over the city.  It started to POUR!  Thundered and lightning.  We ducked into a bar to have a drink and to wait it out.  It was AWESOME!  Heir was so disgusted but we just laughed... Just like home.
To be continued...
