North to Alaska Day 7

Captains Log
Day 7
Welcome to Victoria. BC
Today was a very late lazy start to our day.
We went to breakfast then mom and I sorted and packed up our stuff.  It's amazing how spread out you can get even in the tiniest of rooms.
Then we had lunch and came back and finished up.  We then docked and headed on our tour of Victoria.  We sort of got off to a rough start. People are either tired or less kind/patient in BC.
We went to Butchart Gardens. I could post every picture that the 3 of us took and it would not convey how beautiful the were.  We most certainly did not have enough time there.
On the drive back to the ship we went through China town.  There was a car show going on around the Parliament buildings and the downtown area.  I must go back to Victoria.  It was so pretty and I really needed more time there.
I was so disappointed because I went to all the trouble to get my passport and NO ONE in Canada put a stamp in it!  It barely got looked at!  When we got back to the ship I fed the gulls some crackers from our balcony. I threw them up in the air and the gulls would catch them.  They were good at it!
After we went to dinner we finished up or packing and setting our bags out in the hall for pick up.
Our ship in Victoria.

Downtown Victoria

When we wake up in the morning we will be back in Seattle.  Ray and Rita are picking us back up and taking us home.  Dad is at my house already to get my mom and Auntie flies out tomorrow.  I am so sad this all ending.  It really has been the trip of a lifetime.  I never expected to ever go on cruise.
I hope I get to go on another one some day but if I don't I will at least have done this one.  It was amazing!  Every moment.
Peace

North to Alaska Day 6

Captains Log
Day 6
Thursday at Sea
We slept in!  It was wonderful! It was only about 50' all day. The sun did shine  a few times but it wasn't warm. It was a very relaxing day.  We had breakfast.  Then a little rest for Auntie.  While she was resting Mom and I took the elevator down as far as we were allowed and walked each floor then walked up the stairs and did the next floor.  All the way to the top.  It was good exercise.  It also made me VERY grateful for our outside way high up room!  Some of the inside rooms look a little small and dark.
While Mom and Auntie were at lunch I went and watched the crew talent show. It was good.  Some of it was so funny I was laughing until I cried.  Then I went and had lunch. We all meet in our room later.  Our safe would not open or shut or reset.  We had to call maintenance.  It  was the battery that need replaced.  At first they just smacked it.  If that would have worked I would have been ticked.  LOL  We got all dressed up for dinner.  We have now been to all the restaurants.  After dinner we went and had our pictures made. We also had to do the last run around in the gift shop.  After this it won't be open again. Then mom and I went to the show of the night.  Cirque Bijou.  It was very fun!  People flying and doing crazy things way out over the audience. Auntie started sorting and organizing to start packing.  Tomorrow is a late Port Call in Victoria BC.

North to Alaska Day 5

I am bound and determined to do the whole cruise before I write about anything else.  AND we have been doing exciting stuff!  Ok... so the details.
Captains Log Day 5
Welcome to Skagway.
The weather has just been wonderful here in Alaska.
We docked on the outside so we couldn't see anything from our room.  When we got off the ship it was a darling town.  Our excursion until after lunch.  So we went into town to shop!  We also had a letter box to find.  This was the only one where we really had time to look.  We shopped all we wanted to and then headed back to the ship to drop off our purchases and to grab lunch then head to our train ride.  We were going up to the Yukon. The train was so much fun.  We had a great tour guide.  Her name was Elle.  She did a really good job. Alaska is so beautiful.  The train ride was just what I thought Alaska would look like. I thought the train would turn around but nope.  You just flipped the back of the seat over and it went back the way it came.  We had a good laugh over that one.  I could post every picture I took that day and it still wouldn't show you how beautiful it was.  So... on with the good parts.

Mom and Auntie as we got off the Jewel.

Welcome to Skagway.

One of a town full of interesting buildings.

Leaving my mark in Alaska

Us on the train.  Sounds like a movie title doesn't it?

Headed up to the Yukon looking back to the ships in the harbor.

Our Little Engine that Could.

A glacier but I cannot remember for the life of me the name of it.

One of the stations on the way up.

The OLD bridge.  I'm glad we didn't go over that one.

You can still see the trail that so many people and animals walked to get up to the Yukon.

At the very top!
It was so much fun.  We laughed and enjoyed the day so much.
The only thing I wanted to do and didn't get to was there was a Gold Rush cemetery and I think we would have enjoyed wondering through there but we would have had to take a taxi and there just really wasn't time to go wonder like that.  We did go by it on the train though.
When we got back to the ship it was Chocolate Night.  Mom and I were clueless as to what that meant.  Well it means it's all chocolate all the time!  LOL  So many different things.  I enjoyed the choc. covered strawberries the best.
Such a great day!
Peace
