Night vision

Tonight as Dh was making sure everyone was asleep and still covered up he found this. He came out of Monkey's room just laughing! He said bring your camera and come here. This is Monkey sound asleep - snoring. The room is dark but I used a flash.

This is without flash. He is sleeping with his night vision goggles (gargles) ON. Oh is this kid funny!

This is what he looks like close up. Yes daddy took the goggles off. Isn't he cute! The white kitty on his arm is ALWAYS with him, the others are a random bunch aren't they.

This guy was trying to get into the bird feeder today. He saw me watching and decided to go somewhere else for lunch.

Today's hummer.

It's Tuesday

I was trying to think of a catchy title, didn't work.
We have some friends and they found out today the husband has lung cancer. He has been given about a year. They have a 17 year old son. Please remember Ray in your prayers. I hate cancer!

Here is a few pictures from the last few days.

Bugs and another bullfrog. They are so interesting to look at.
The next few pictures are of a egg of some kind. I think it's a bullfrog, Bugs SWEARS it's a salamander. It is really cool! You can so easily see the "critter" inside.

I was trying to get an angle that didn't have a reflection, I didn't get a great one.

Then he took it back and put it back.

My Monkey. He came in the door with a huge grin on his face today and said LOOK WHAT I MADE! Then he collapsed into a heap of giggles. He thought it was hilarious. I asked him what he cooked and he said NOTHING! That's why he was laughing so hard.
I am heading up a photo challenge for the month of May. I will post a word the night before for the next day. Take as many pictures as you need and post the best one. If you leave me a link I will look at them all. If you happen to miss a day no worries, or post one from your files that fits the word. Just try to do it every day. Remember it is all art, no right or wrong. May 1st!

Here fishy fishy fishy

Dh took The Littles to a fishing derby today. We have gone to this one several years in a row. One year Bugs won a new fishing pole. I didn't go today. I needed a day by myself. I accomplished quite a bit.
The Littles ready to fish!
In the line waiting for their turn.
Look at that pole - it's the BIG ONE!
Almost got him!
Look at that giant fish. He is so proud.
The crowd. It really is a fun day. The kids love it.
Another one!
Bugs and his fish. He loves to fish but he was really looking for critter's to put in his bucket. He did catch a crawdad.
Daddy let them play at the playground before he brought them home.
Boys and their fish. The neighbor boys wouldn't get out of the picture. LOL They were so excited for the boys.
I hope you have a blessed week.

Full days

A friend's dad died last Sunday. He will be missed every single day. I tell you that to tell just how funny my life can be. Even when I'm not trying I can make a mess of things. I was taking a meal to the wife. She used to watch Monkey when he was a little guy and they loved each other very much. So I normally take a frozen lasagna or something similar and all the side stuff that can either be cooked then or when they need it later. This time I was going to do something a bit different. Since I knew she had friends in town to be with her I planned for 3. I took some enchilada's and rice/re fried beans and chips and salsa to her. Nothing that had to be cooked THAT day but whenever. As I walked up to the door she just smiled a sad smile - we all know THAT look - and said Oh you didn't have to do that. I said No worries just have it when you need it. Then I walked in and met her friends that are in town and guess what........ They are Hispanic. I almost choked! Isn't that just my luck. LOL Oh well my heart is in the right place and they won't starve.

Today I had the privilege to be able to go to a live simulcast of Beth Moore's Good Bye Insecurities. It was so good! I took some notes but mostly I listened and took it in. There was 869 locations and over 300,00o women who took part. It was really a wonderful experience. A few things that stuck in my mind were, insecurity and humility are not the same thing! Insecurity is NOT a weakness, it is plain and simple unbelief! - that stung! Being insecure is really being really self absorbed! That didn't feel really good either! The scripture for the day was mostly Ephesians 4:1 - 5:2.
When Beth was done speaking but before she let us go she asked us to face our neighbor and say a commissioning statement to each other. SO out of my comfort zone. I had just today met who I was sitting by. She was bolder then I but I did what I was asked. It was so moving! This is what we commissioned

My Dear Sister

If Christ is Your Savior

You are the dwelling place

Of His own Spirit

You have it IN YOU

to be secure.

Every day of your life

You have a choice to make

You can live in your old defeat

Or you can turn from your unbelief

And choose life

Make up your mind

To put off the old you

And put on the new you.

Never, ever, ever forget

That the Lord is your security.

He will keep your foot

From being caught in a trap.

He will take care of you

To your very last breath.

Now, leave this place

And go out into the world

And act like a person

Who knows she’s dearly loved.

You were born to be exceptional.

So, Girlfriend, go forth

And walk worthy of your calling.

You are clothed in strength and dignity!

Now unto Him

Who can keep you from falling

Be glory and majesty

Power and authority

Through Jesus Christ our Lord

Now and forever more

So Long, Insecurity!
(Beth Moore)

I hope you are having a good weekend.

Sunday Picture Dump

Buster and DIL and I having a video chat. Buster misses his Nana very much and needs me! He is a chatty little guy and has the sweetest giggle!

Bugs caught his first bullfrog - of the year. I love the speckled tummy and legs.

He's watching me!

He's hoping for a princess!

The next words were I'm not touching it to my lips and I hope he doesn't pee on me!

Spring is REALLY REALLY here! When you walk down my street you can smell lilacs all over. I love it!

For family dinner today I made lasagna and homemade french bread. Dh made a huge salad. We all ate until we were stuffed. Roommate came with Heir Apparent. Heir worked in the garden. It was in the low 70's today. Simply gorgeous.

Roommate "helping" heir work in the garden.
Heir with Monkey. Heir is pleading with the raspberries to stay out of the strawberries.

He can sit and work like that for hours. He does it fishing too.

Have a blessed week!
