One of my big wants on this trip was to have high tea. I took a dress and everything. I was ready! Well, high tea is very expensive. None of us wanted to spend THAT much on a meal. So, Madeline found a much more reasonably priced tea. So, tea and a bag experience were on the schedule for today. We took the bus to the Royal mile. We walked and shopped and just were taking it all in. At our appointment time we went to tea at the Willow Tea Rooms. It was a wonderful experience. The food was yummy! Our tea consisted of Tea, I don't remember my flavor of tea. Then, Ham, egg, cucumber and salmon sandwiches. A scone and a lemon cake with lemon drizzle. I didn't care for the salmon one and Madeline didn't love the cucumber one, so we switched. It was so fun! So we had tea in the shadow of Edenborough Castle. One of my highlights!

In the Shadow of Edenborough Castle
See part of the castle out the window?

After we had our fill of tea and yummy goodness, we headed off to find our bag experience. It was down on Victoria St. I kind of knew what we were doing but couldn't envision it. Victoria Steet is really cool! So many little stores of anything you could imagine.
Victoria Street is said to have been the inspiration for Diagon Alley, in Harry Potter. Where Harry and his friends buy everything they need for the school year at Hogwarts.
Greyfriars Bobby
Greyfriars Bobby (4 May 1855 – 14 January 1872) was a Skye Terrier or Dandie Dinmont Terrier who became known in 19th-century Edinburgh for spending 14 years guarding the grave of his owner until his death on 14 January 1872. The story continues to be well known in Scotland, through several books and films. The statue and nearby graves are a tourist attraction. His nose has been rubbed/touched so much, for luck that it is rubbing away.

Making my final choice was agonizing! I had buyer's remorse before I even made my decision. I wanted one of most everything. They had big purses, backpacks, and really small ones. You could make more than one, but my purse seemed the best option for me.
Ready, set, go!
Tada!
We walked back to the bus stop and went back to our hotel. It was a GREAT day!
Peace
