How deep

I have a lot in my head but I do not know how to get my thoughts on the page so they make sense. So...... I love Easter. I love the work that Christ did for me and you on the cross. I hope I am never not moved to tears and joy at what the Lord did for me.
This song is on a CD I have. I love it. Actually I love the whole CD but this one has really been running through my brain this week. It is Selah - You Deliver Me. This is the song.

HOW DEEP THE FATHER'S LOVE

How deep the Father's love for us
How vast beyond all measure
That He would give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure

How great the pain of searing loss
The Father turns His face away
As wounds which mar the chosen One
Bring many sons to glory

Behold the Man upon a cross
My guilt upon His shoulders
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers

It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished
His dying breath has brought me life
I know that it is finished

I will not boast in anything
No gifts, no powr's, no wisdom
But I will boast in Jesus Christ
His death and resurrection

Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer
But this I know with all my heart
His wounds have paid my ransom

  1. When I came to realize He was in hope and tragedy, poverty and prosperity, I became a free person. Because He is in all things, I can let go of the fear, pressure and control of the direction of my life. Free falling into a love pit. I know you understand. Thought provoking post, Happy Easter. And of course and always peace for all
