Thankful Thursday

Today when I got home I inhaled a pb&j and just sat down and DH asked Skater dude if he would watch The Littles for a bit and he said yes and then he took my hand and asked if I would take a walk with him. We took Scout and Bolt and were gone for about an hour just walking. The lilacs are starting to bloom enough that you can smell them. People were mowing their lawns and kids were running around and riding bikes. The dogs always attract attention but we kept moving. We didn't say much, just walked and held hands and took it all in. It was nice.

It's Tuesday!

I have my own little tulip field in my yard. VERY LITTLE, Just this one.
I think the squirrels have had a field day with my bulbs. I
used to have many gladiola's and tulips... sigh. When DH was
weeding in my beds he found my grandma's shamrocks. They
are so delicate looking but just keep coming back no matter
how much they have to come up through the weeds.

Sunday

We had a very nice weekend. My parents came to a Mustang sale and they brought our granddaughter Arawyn with them. It was the first time we had her all to ourselves at our house. It was very fun. She is a fearless pistol. She loved her Uncles. Heir apparent came to dinner Sat. and Sunday it was good to see him. Sunday he and his roommate had gone hiking and I left him a text that we were BBQ-ing again and they stopped by starving! It works, no leftovers.

Thankful Thursday

The Lord tells us to give thanks in all circumstances. I'm trying, really I am. I am thankful for so many things but I'm trying to be thankful for this particular time in our lives. It's hard. I have never not been thankful for my home. We were married for a long time before we bought it and we lived in it as renters for many years before we bought it. We are the only people I know who would buy a house that they didn't like just so they didn't have to move. :-) But that's who we are. We had a fire 9 years ago and it was devastating and I clung to the thought that it was just things! No children were lost just things and 2 birds. We rebuilt and we were fine. I know this is kind of rambly but I'm trying to get my thoughts down. I am thankful for our home. 3 of our children were born here, one in this house. We have lived here so many years. Our roots are here. I know that none of this is a surprise to God, he has a plan and a purpose, I will follow and obey, but just so you know I don't like it. It's not a great week in our world but I'm going to hit post before I change my mind. This is where I'm at today. Tomorrow my parents coming and they are bringing one of our granddaughters and that will certainly lift our spirits. Peace.

Almost Wordless Wednesday

Today is Arawyn's 3rd birthday. She is my DH's oldest son's (my stepson) daughter. AKA Tinkerbell. Grandaughters are soooo much fun!

Tulip Tuesday

Today was beautiful again. I'm sure it won't last but enjoying it while it's here. Got some weeding done today in my own flower beds, I didn't do it but it got done. :) I did brush our big dog. He loves it. I could make 2 small dogs with what came off of him. When he's all brushed I love rubbing my feet through his coat. He feels like velvet. Now he just smells like big dog and is shedding his winter coat.

A wonderful weekend.

Friday I went to a street fair with my friend and saw some beautiful gardens. On Sat. Anita came with her boys and we went to the huge tulip fields. Most of them are not blooming yet. Isn't that sad that the tulips aren't ready at the Tulip Festival? Here are a few pictures of the weekend.

Baby Scout

Yesterday was Scouts 2nd birthday. I was posting about Easter so I just let it go. So today is her day. She is such a funny little thing. I love her and she was a balm for my hurting heart. This morning started though with Bolt JUMPING into the tub with Monkey. Then tonight he did it again to Bugs! Weird dog!

Easter

Today was a good day. Heir Apparent came and we all were headed out to church. About half way there Monkey started throwing up. He was so sick. We turned around and came home. DH and Bugs went on to church. Monkey took a long hot bath and laid on the couch resting. I did all the things I needed to do for dinner. The big boys watched sports and hung out. It POURED on us most of the day. We waited trying to see if Monkey would feel up to the egg hunt, and the weather to break. We found our moment about 3 this afternoon and went for it. I love that my big boys still hunt eggs and fool around. We had a lovely dinner.
