Cast of Characters - Monkey

We never thought this boy would get to come. It had been years since anyone joined our family and we thought we were done. Because of a previous loss we kept him a secret until we knew he got to stay. When we told people he was coming everyone laughed or gasped. lol WE laughed. When we had an ultrasound the Tech asked if we wanted to know and we both said yes, but know we aren't going to be surprised. She laughed and said ooooooh OK. Then she took the wand up over my tummy and said "Oh it's a good thing you want to know" and DH and I just looked closer and went HUH????? He looked like Mars to us. She said it was very CLEARLY a boy. We laughed and said Of course! Once I saw 4 chambers of a beating heart and a clear spine I was in Heaven! She got one really good shot of Monkey's foot pushing out and it was so cool. Those things we could see clear. The rest? You have to be tech to tell, I swear.
Monkey was born early and huge and we laughed. I wanted to name him Sawyer, and it was my turn to name. DH was soooooooo drawn to Isaac which means Laughter. Sooooo Isaac it is. And we are STILL laughing. Monkey is finally mine. He is blond and fair and blue eyed where everyone else is olive and dark. Finally!!!
Monkey is every ones baby. He has no idea he's little. I have a running page of Isaacism. This past summer I went on a ride for a week with my parents and Monkey and Bugs stayed with a friend until Carmen got off work at the end of the week. During that week they went to Vacation Bible School. Now when we talk about him going to school this Fall he says, "I already went!" And he is dead serious. I'll keep you posted on how this works out for us this Fall.
I could keep rambling about this boy but I'll leave it there. I'm sure there will be LOTS more to laugh about. Peace

  1. Yes, Vacation Bible School...He do dreaded that but I'm pretty sure by the end of it he was sorta okay with it....SORTA! I think you are going to have a lot of explaining to do when it comes time to tell him he's got to start Kindergarten...:) Love you!
